A Prized Possession

The copper piece that Embla picked up is a Shugo tailring. It belongs to either Sarinerk or Padinerk. Decide which, and return it to its owner.

Walkthrough[]

When picking up the quest, choose one of the two Shugos to return the tailring to. Both Shugos are in the Sky Temple of Arkanis. Sarinerk takes the night shift and will be in her location from 9pm to 9am game time. Padinerk will be in his spot from 9am to 9pm.

There will be a different follow-up quest depending on which Shugo is chosen. Sarinerk opens up <The Bottom of the Temple> [p30] and Padinerk opens up <Immortal Love> [p32]. Immortal Love gives more experience (by 100k) and an item (worth 23k to merchant) instead of Kinah (45k total).

"We're trying to find out what happened to the Daevas we lost. We see them go, then that's it. No rhyme nor reason. Nothing. We have one clue.

They sometimes leave their possessions, so we go out looking for them. Maybe we'll be able to find a pattern in the disappearances, but at least we'll be able to re-use their equipment.

Of course, we also pick up a lot of useless junk. Look at this thing, for example. Found it a few days ago."

"Looks Shugo to me."

"Good eyes. They wear these on their tails. As with all things Shugo, the size and value of the thing denotes class.

Now I could just sell this, but you never know when you'll need a favor from a Shugo. Makes much more sense to me to find the owner, and give it back to them.

Do you have time to return this, [Player Name]? There are a couple of Shugos I see around here a lot--it could belong to either Sarinerk or Padinerk."

"Good. It looks expensive, and I'm sure the Shugo it belongs to will want it back.

Now, here's where it gets complicated. The two Shugos that I mentioned before, Sarinerk and Padinerk, have been cursed by something, and now one can only be here during the day, and the other at night.

I have no idea which of the two actually owns the thing, and I doubt either will be honest enough to not claim ownership. You're going to need to guess the owner."

"I'd guess Sarinerk."

"Sarinerk? I had the same gut instinct.

Time will tell. Head over to the Sky Temple of Arkanis and hand it to her. If it is hers, I'm sure she'd be relieved to have it back in her hands...paws...."

"Maybe it's Padinerk's."

"Padinerk? Hmm. My instincts told me it was Sarinerk's, but I'm wrong every now and then.

Let's trust your gut feeling. You'll find Padinerk over by the Sky Temple of Arkanis, so just head over there and see what he says when he's reunited with the accessory."

Shugos treasure tail rings. I lost mine, and nearly lost my love. Padinerk appears as Sarinerk fades, and Sarinerk appears as Padinerk fades. Cruel omen. Cruel omen fixed by Daeva!"

"Ignore one omen! One omen! And look! Look!

Trapped! Can't see my love! Stupid omen!"

"Calm down! I think this might be yours."

"Sarinerk's tailring?! You found it?! Akakak!

The curse will be lifted! We will see each other again, yes? Akak! Shugo curse, lifted by a Daeva! Akakakak!

Padinerk will give her the tailring, and will give you this. Thank you, Daeva!"
