Thank you Edit

Thank you for all your edits on the Wiki!--Profiteor 05:46, November 16, 2009 (UTC)

Added Admin Rights Edit

Thank you for all your contributions to the wiki. I have added admin rights to your account. Sorry havent been on much lately major health issues and work. You are doing a great job and love to see more. Thank you sooo much for all your help XDesireX 12:51, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Quest pages Edit

I see you've been doing a lot of quest pages lately. Just a few changes we've made. The NPC Allies/Foes section has been removed. I feel it's been redundant and not needed. Also, change ===Reward=== to ===Basic Reward=== and any optional rewards will be added with another header ===Optional Rewards===. A good example would be Dispatch to Altgard or Danger from Above. Thanks for all your work. Rappy 00:48, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip! Will make those changes as I go (focusing on renaming/updating the older quest pages before adding new ones atm). --Grynd 00:55, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
Good deal. That's what I hope you'd say. =) Rappy 00:57, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Infoboxes Edit

Just dropping this here. Rappy 22:03, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Aionopedia and you Edit

HI Grynd <spam deleted> —Preceding unsigned comment added by‎ (talkcontribs) — please sign your posts with ~~~~.

Hi I'm already well aware of the existence of Aionopedia, and I am not interested for several reasons.
1. The Aion Wikia is in the Aionopedia 'Hall of SHAME'.
2. Your wiki even has a 'Hall of SHAME'.
3. 'Poaching' editors from another wiki is not something I can really condone as I believe it's the wrong way to attract editors (yes, I noticed you posted a similar message on another admin's page several months ago)
4. The 'Recent Changes' on your site tells a different story to those statistics you posted above.
5. Spamming your link on the homepage is both rash and callow.
47. Staring at white text on black background for too long hurts my eyes.
Any further messages of this kind I shall consider spam. --Grynd 00:18, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Grynd, i must admit im surprised someone had put my link on your homepage ... And you took the time to comment, I'll take your advice and use it well. <spam deleted> ... always open for any kind of suggestions. :) ~ Aionopedia Admin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs) — please sign your posts with ~~~~.
Wasn't you who put the link on the homepage, really? So it just happens that somebody with the same ISP did so? I'm not buying that. And like I said, I'm really not interested in joining your wiki, bribery doesn't work either. --Grynd 08:34, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
Seriously, both IPs are from AAPT Limited's Dial-up ISP service and both from the city of Perth, Australia. Nice try there. Rappy 18:33, May 2, 2010 (UTC)

Help Edit

You are on the Elyos side correct? If so, can you please verify the names of the items sold by Mune in Poeta? These pages were made before the 1.5 update and have the old names. Aion Armory does not have Mune listed as an NPC either. Also, I noticed you saw what happened on Shegreen's page and after that re-added the section above. Spam bypasses that and you can safely remove spam from your user page. The 'no removing content' is only there for those wishing to remove unwanted feedback. Thanks for you help. Rappy 21:25, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

Sure! Item names now updated. Can add/verify the details for the other NPC pages while I'm here.
As for the spammy message above, I didn't intend to delete all of it :P I just went back to edit my response after finding the changes that were made to the homepage, to make my message perfectly clear. --Grynd 23:39, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, much appreciated. Once I iron out the {{Item infobox}} I will start on those old pages still lying around... Mercenary Cloth Shoes for instance. Rappy 15:55, April 23, 2010 (UTC)

Another favor Edit

Tell me what you can about this guy. From his level, I am wanting to think Heiron? Rappy 15:55, April 23, 2010 (UTC)

According to yg he's in Aetherogenetics Lab. Hostile to both factions according to Aionarmory, but he's a merchant? huh? --Grynd 16:46, April 23, 2010 (UTC)
That's what struck me odd. Aion Armory is probably wrong on that one =p Rappy 20:10, April 23, 2010 (UTC)

Feedback Edit

I'd like your feedback on proposed item pages. Mercenary Shoes, Jewel of Nochsana Training Camp Chief, and Dolan's Plate Pauldrons. Please let me know what you think. I really like the table that shows the exact item like it is in-game without the need of a screenshot. Basically what I need to brainstorm is what else to put on the item pages to fill it out after the infobox/item box. Any ideas? Rappy 16:16, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, they look fantastic! The box looks exactly like the items in-game which is great. I much prefer the darker boxes to the white one. Will all that be done with the templates, or will we be writing the tables by hand? Suggestions: Have 'Rarity' as an actual link in the infobox, in case people want to look up the rarities easily. What else could we put on those pages... set/setbonus/matching items info, some mention about the 'noble' versions of crafted items, a screenshot of how it looks (though that's not too important as most of them look the same anyway, and would be terribly time-consuming), and drop rates... though I haven't yet found a sniffer site with reliable drop rates for everything.
Did you have any plans for the categories? Making them auto-categorise by type/rarity i.e. Category:Plate Armor items or Category:Fabled Plate Armor items, something like that? --Grynd 22:20, April 24, 2010 (UTC)
That's the plan (categories) and yes, all those you listed are great starters for the item pages. Drop rate is a funny thing. We've started doing some mock-ups for drop rates for the crafting rewards. It's not bad, but it's not that great either unless you have a lot of people contributing for it. Rappy 01:36, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

work order pages Edit

A few things. Glad you pick up on crap so quickly when you see us making edits. Makes this so much easier. Leave off the [xxp] to the name = in the infobox. Those were the old quests names. After patch (I think) they changed them. Unknown reward section... alphabetize the list there to make it flow easier. Quest items first, then materials, then designs. As far as the rewards page... I am still working on how to set that up. >.< Last thing. If you do a search on AionArmory and see that the same quest name is used for both sides, we need to set up disambig pages for them. I made a pseudo-example of it with Minced Crasaur Meat Supplies (Elyos)/Minced Crasaur Meat Supplies (Asmodian) with the disambigs Minced Crasaur Meat and Minced Crasaur Meat Supplies. It's wonderful to have someone on the other side helping out as well and picking up our torch to get these fixed. Thanks. Rappy 01:22, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

One last picky request that doesn't need to be followed and doesn't have any impact on the page itself... it's just a cosmetic change... aphabetize the needs = section in the infobox too and make sure they work in plural form. IE... needs = Qooqoo Eggs not needs = Qooqoo Egg. Thanks again. Rappy 01:26, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for noticing and fixing that before I'd done all of them, didn't realise they had removed the [xxp] part (they're still showing like that on Aionarmory >.< ). As for the unknown rewards part, atm I'm just copying those from the relevant Asmo-side quests that are already done (and removing the race-specific designs), so I'll alphabetise both sides as I go. Do you know which (if any) databases have reward details for these quests?
Also, do the quest pages themselves need to link to the race-specific item page, or are they fine linking to the disambig? When linking to the proper page they appear as Issued Material <Issued Material.gifIssued Raw Crasaur Meat> --Grynd 01:38, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
Grynd - My work order page has them all listed for the basic cooking rewards in alphabetical order if that is helpful. I have other changes to make on the Asmodian pages, so if you want to leave those its fine.Surriela 01:52, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict)As far as the items that can be given as rewards? So far, we are only adding the rewards we actually get from doing the quest. I don't believe there is a DB for rewards from WOs. Would be nice. Let's be the first site to add them =) The race-specific link should not link to the disambig, instead use {{!}} to pipe that part of the {{reward}} like Issued Material <Issued Raw Crasaur Meat> I know that's a little longer, but it shows up better than having the (xxx) after them. Rappy 01:56, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

Bad title, search error Edit

I don't get any search errors. How are you getting them? Just curious. Rappy 10:53, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

It happens whenever using the search box where there is a '?' in the title. I noticed before while searching for Where's Tutty, although I checked on Where's Rae just to make sure... the search takes you to which produces this error:
The requested page title was invalid, empty, or an incorrectly linked inter-language or inter-wiki title. It may contain one or more characters which cannot be used in titles.
--Grynd (talk) 11:03, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
Odd that the redirect doesn't cause the same error. I will look into this. Rappy 15:47, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
And... for some reason... I am not getting that error. Are you still getting it by chance? Rappy 16:06, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, still getting the error when I click the link above. If I replace the '%253F' with a question mark in the address bar there is no error. Out of curiosity, I got my bf to check the link too and he got the same error (not logged in). Tried on both IE and Firefox if that makes any difference. Very strange.
I clicked the Where's Rae? link normally, and the URL is and works fine for me. So the characters that represent '?' got mushed in the search page. --Grynd (talk) 20:07, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
Disregarding the link above, enter where's rae? in the search bar and tell me your results. I go to the correct page named with the ?, do you? Rappy 21:20, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, when I enter the title exactly, I get the right page (Where's Rae?) with no errors. --Grynd (talk) 23:24, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

(reset indent) Okay then. I am at a loss on how to reproduce that error then. Can you tell me how you first found it? I cannot get that error page at all with whatever search I try. Rappy 00:49, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

Just searched for part of the page title 'rae', the first result was Where's Rae?, but clicking it brought up the error. First found it doing exactly the same thing searching for 'tutty'. I've noticed the same problem across wikia, if I find any page in the search which has a question mark. Didn't give it much thought. --Grynd (talk) 10:41, May 8, 2010 (UTC)
Wikia knows of this error and is working on fixing it. Rappy 01:51, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

NPC infobox Edit

Now that I know a little more in what we're dealing with for the NPC infoboxes... What were the questions you had on them? I don't want to post-pone your /temp much longer if you're waiting on me/us before you start back up. Rappy 01:50, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Basically all I need to know now is how to use it:P What the parameters are, what are the options for ranks/ratings/emblems, etc. --Grynd (talk) 02:23, May 18, 2010 (UTC)
Umm, other than the emblem, most of that is self-explanatory at the moment... still ironing out how affiliation will work, but for the most part, I think the infobox is solid. The emblem is only used for the icon in the titlebar on the page. For a list of emblems uploaded so far, see here. Any other questions feel free to ask here or in the shoutbox. Rappy 17:47, May 19, 2010 (UTC)
Great, should be able to continue with those now :) --Grynd (talk) 00:09, May 20, 2010 (UTC)
Sounds good. Rappy 00:25, May 20, 2010 (UTC)

List of Sanctum NPCs Edit

You have something similar already in the works on one of your temp pages... can you see what you can do with this page. I'd like to see your results so we can look into similar pages. Rappy 21:44, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

Basically, the plan was to set out the list the same as the first section of my temp page, (though listing the NPCs under any categories that apply) and the ones who don't do anything are under 'Various'. Could have creatures organised into named/bosses and normal mobs. I wasn't going to move them to the 'proper' page until the whole list was complete simply for ease of use. --Grynd (talk) 00:09, May 20, 2010 (UTC)
Cool. I just ran across the page today. Rappy 00:25, May 20, 2010 (UTC)

Ideas Edit

What do you think of these ideas? User_talk:Shegreen Shegreen 20:54, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

Spotlight Request Edit

Hi. Aion Wiki looks like it is generally in great shape. Could you please add a link to new images (Special:NewFiles) in your sidebar somewhere? Also, please customize the message on the Community Corner on My Home. Let me know when you have taken care of these two things and I'll be happy to add you to the spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 02:45, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Done... and thanks for helping us out on this Wendy. Rappy 02:58, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

(Elyos armorsmithing) and work orders Edit

Two things. The talk page for metal coating agent is an issue. She misunderstood my conundrum with the Iron Ingots (made in both AS and WS professions). Preferably it should be strictly (Asmodian) (Elyos). The other thing; this edit is how I want the pages to be reflected. Use {{craft}} rather than [[linking]] it. Also, refrain from using {{!}} (I know it was on older pages, but we changed that). Once the item page is created, it won't show the (Asmodian) (Elyos) at the end. Any other questions, please ask. Rappy 22:26, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for clearing that up :) I'll update the other Work Order pages I've done with those changes. --Grynd (talk) 22:42, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
Also, when there is a page with an Elyos/Asmodian disambig after it in the page title... use {{pagetitle}} to remove it so it looks better as the title. Furthermore, make sure you add the {{otheruses}} to the top to specify it's an Elyos-only item and add a link to the Asmodian version if you can please like Salad Dressing Supplies. Rappy 03:48, August 14, 2010 (UTC)
Ooh cool, didn't know about that template. I'll get fixing those up today. --Grynd (talk) 17:28, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

New skin Edit

You're not the only one. I am not sure what exactly is causing it, but Wikia doesn't care. They've had Ocular Physicians comment on blogs about the new skin and its' effects and they end up removing the blog posts. They have been banning people from IRC as well as banning people on wikia for posts about the eye strain. *shrug* What can you do. Wikia thinks it's a ploy from its users to make them change the skin back, but it's not. I get the headaches as well and so does my brother... after only 45s of looking at a page. Rappy 03:07, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

That is crazy. I'm interested to hear what the ocular experts had to say. I can't believe they're still going ahead with it. After all the feedback editors gave (and I gave) before now they didn't change a damn thing.
I think my eyes are being drawn to the adds and images on the right while trying to read the page content. Or my eyes are darting around trying to find links in their new places. Either way, I need to switch back to the old skin for now. Can't get used to this x.x --Grynd (talk) 03:34, October 9, 2010 (UTC)
It's an issue relating to Ocular dominance (from what I have heard). It's a parallax effect from something in the site itself. I believe it has to do something with the tiny shader effects they are using for various parts of the theme, and without redesigning all of those aspects, it will persist. Rappy 04:46, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

Inquery Edit

Hey, Sarah. Do you still play Aion? Haven't seen you here in quite a while (since the new Wikia look in October)... Just wondering if Wikia's new look scared you off. If you haven't noticed, we revamped the skin quite a bit. Drop me a line when you get a chance. Rappy 09:09, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Rappy! Sorry to have disappeared without saying anything. Unfortunately I do not play Aion any more. I was editing for a little while even after I stopped playing, however the wikia new look really put me off continuing to edit. I can see the wiki looks amazing now and so much content has been added, you guys have done a great job (especially love the hover-overs on links). --Grynd (talk) 20:00, August 17, 2011 (UTC)
That's a shame. You'll be missed. How are you handling the new answers look over at WoW answers now?
Anyways, should you start playing and want to give a hand editing, you're always welcome to come back. Have fun out there. Rappy 00:03, August 18, 2011 (UTC)
Aion's going F2P next month. Think you will be interested in playing again? Rappy 07:39, March 21, 2012 (UTC)
Hey! I've seen that Aion is free to play and I've been tempted to play it again... already transferred my account but still thinking about it :) How are things going on the wiki? Is there still a lot of content missing? --Grynd (talk) 06:22, March 24, 2012 (UTC)
Oh yeah. It seems the more we get done, the more we have around the corner. We've got 99% of all Ishalgen, Altgard and Morheim done now though. Still lacking on instances and Elyos side though (among other things). We still have a lot of common knowledge pages to create. It would be nice to have a new editor about... haven't been anyone other than Surriela and I for a while... and we're both over 20,000 edits. Also, as far as the 'new Wikia look' comment above... I did get the monobook theme looking halfway decent. Rappy 06:28, March 24, 2012 (UTC)

Grynd- there is still lots to do on the wiki especially on the Elyos side of things. Rappy and I have been working on many things. Come and have a look. It would be great if you were to start playing again and edit too.Surriela 01:48, March 25, 2012 (UTC)

Key Moments of MMO History Video NarrationEdit

Hey there Grynd, my name is Doug and I'm a member of Wikia's Community Development Team! Wikia is creating an exciting Key Moments of MMO History video that will showcase several amazing games of the genre. We're looking for admins of MMO wikis who would be interested in submitting a short vocal narration about their game of choice.

We want to ask you the question What is the most important moment in Aion's History?

If you're interested, please record an MP3 voice narration of your answer, a few sentences  to a small paragraph is fine. If you have no recording software and are still interested, we can schedule a Skype call to record! Please send the finished recording to and you'll be featured in the video to represent your community! Thank you and have a good one!
