Spells and SkillsEdit

Hey Rappy,

Thanks for correcting that link. I'm new on this wiki. I saw the red and figured there was a page to link to; didn't look hard enough apparently.

Not a problem. :) That spell page needs some work it seems. We probably need to combine skill and spell at some point. Rappy @Wikia 17:01, December 18, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah. I was surprised it was empty. Figured I'd work on adding  content / information but the skill category pages work; now that I know they are there!

RiftsEdit

Hi Rappy,

I'm hoping you can help. I'm trying to figure out the whole Rift thing and can't seem to get information about how to catch one open. I looked at the Rift wiki page, but it wasn't detailed about when they are open. I need the Morheim to Eltnen. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.83.116.71 (talkcontribs) — please sign your posts with ~~~~.

They are on 20 minute timers and the rift that is open is random. You will just have to check your map when you zone in and see which one is open at that time. Rappy @Wikia 23:26, January 16, 2014 (UTC)

Map info template? Edit

Is it perhaps an idea to create a template containing some map info and add it under the images of the in-game maps at the respective sections?

Something like:

  • "First seen in" (e.g. 4.7)
  • "Level" (e.g. 35~45, 60+)"
  • "Type" (e.g. PvE, PvPvE, Shared)

I wouldn't be opposed to that. We do have some 'named' maps (ie. File:Taran's Cavern named map.png). There is also the maps feature that we can use now.
As a general rule of thumb, we like to have the main, unaltered map at File:<name of area>.png. Any other maps should be named accordingly (like File:Taran's Cavern radar map.png). Rappy @Wikia 18:51, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, what I meant is if we can have a map infobox template (similar to item/NPC) which shows the map name, image, and some info under it [e.g. 'first seen in' (4.7) / 'level' (35~40) / type: PvE/PvP]
This way I don't need to include such data in the text area. I'm still new to the whole wikia editing stuff so I'll find out how to create such a template later, but figured I'd ask for your permission first. ReylandAZ (talk) 11:50, December 29, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, just a infobox template with text? Yeah, those are easy enough. I would suggest copying the {{Object infobox}} one as a basis if you want to get started on it before I have a chance to dive in on it. The object one is a very basic one and should be easy to alter. Thanks, I've been playing around with it but with 'level' for instance it adds a 'p' afterwards. I'm not sure how to create a MapInfoBox template from scratch and add it to the database, so I'll just wait for you to have a go at it ReylandAZ (talk) 18:23, December 29, 2014 (UTC)
